Murabaha in Islamic Economy (with a Special Banking Perspective)

Abstract

It has been years since the Shia jurisprudence (Feghh) started the study of contract Murabaha although unique due to its special features, the Iranian banking system has overlooked this type of transaction because of many reasons.

However, there is hope in the horizon for this type of contract because it is mentioned as effective in the Fifth Development Plan (Article 98). Since it is not examined thoroughly enough, many are the research studies necessary to investigate the issue profoundly.

This study aims to present a precise introduction of this type of contract and to shed light on its practical aspects as well. Religious controversies on the issue are also discussed in detail.
