Abstract

Iran is one of the earthquake-prone countries in the world which has a lot of ethnic and religious diversity. Given the importance of people's donation in helping victims of natural disasters, knowing the impact of factors such as religion and ethnicity on people's donation which is the subject of this article, is very important in post-disaster relief. For this purpose, a field study was conducted including the completion of more than 900 questionnaires in the cities of Qorveh, Takab, Sanandaj and Znjan and the city of Bijar was selected as the hypothetical city where the earthquake occurs. Contingent valuation method and double bounded dichotomous choice questionnaire were used to estimate the willingness to donate. The logit model was used to analyze the results which showed that the effect of religion on people's donations is greater than the effect of ethnicity.

Abstract

In the present era, due to the development of transportation system and communication technology, the economies and trade of countries are intertwined. This highlights the vital importance of foreign trade as the main lever for economic growth and development. Meanwhile, trade between Iran and Afghanistan due to its proximity and high potential for trade and economic cooperation doubles the importance of the issue. But the imposition of economic sanctions on Iran poses a variety of obstacles and restrictions on trade between the two countries. Therefore, in this study, the effect of economic sanctions on trade between Iran and Afghanistan during the years (2001-2009) has been studied and analyzed by Eviews10, using a Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square method. Economic sanctions have entered the model in the form of a dummy variable. The findings show that the imposition of any economic sanctions has led to an increase in long-term trade between Iran and Afghanistan. Therefore, the two countries should consider the necessary strategies to reduce the effect of sanctions.

Abstract

The use of new Islamic financing tools is one of the logical ways to improve the performance of banks in Islamic countries. Islamic instruments are considered as the simplest method of financing and liquidity, which, while relying on physical assets and reducing credit risks, have no legal problems and the experience of recent years indicates the high efficiency of these instruments in strengthening the performance of the country's banks. Accordingly, in the present study, the effect of Islamic financing (through rent sukuk and Murabaha bonds) on the allocation of banking resources in Iran is examined  during the period 2012: 4 to 2021: 2 (based on quarterly data) using Markov Switching econometric technique. The results show that sukuk bonds in both regimes have a positive effect on banking facilities, but nevertheless, the impact coefficients are not very significant. Therefore, we must look for ways to attract foreign and domestic investment in order to issue different types of sukuk in order to increase the resources of banks.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate cyberspace security's effect on economic growth in islamic countries (including Iran). In general, any disruption in cyber security can create challenges for businesses and disrupt economic stability and growth. It can be claimed that in the conditions of cyber attacks, the economy faces a kind of market failure. Therefore, establishing cyber security at the macro level of the country is considered as a public service. Investigating this issue (the effect of cyberspace security on economic growth) in a selected of islamic countries is the focus of this study. The period investigated in this research is from 2012 to 2022, and the estimation method is a panel data econometric model. The results indicate that the increase in cyber security has had a significant and positive, albeit small, effect on the economic growth of the studied islamic countries. This finding implies that, in addition to investing in information and communication technology infrastructures and increasing the penetration rate of this technology (as a necessary condition), paying attention to the security category of this area (as a sufficient condition) is necessary and unavoidable.
