Designing a model for the development of financial management strategies with an environmental sustainability approach and reducing negative effects on the environment(case study of medical sciences universities in Tehran)

This research focuses on the development of sustainable financial management strategies and the reduction of environmental impacts, using the medical universities of Tehran as a case study. The main objective of this research is to propose a comprehensive model for integrating sustainability principles into organizational financial management. In this regard, the selection and identification of indicators were carried out by utilizing the research literature and conducting exploratory interviews, along with a survey of 19 managers from the departments of the medical universities in Tehran. The sampling method was purposeful, and theoretical sampling reached theoretical saturation. Subsequently, the data gathered from the research were analyzed using the thematic analysis method. The developed paradigm model was analyzed using Maxqda20 software. The findings of the research reveal various types of causal factors, phenomenon-centered issues, strategies, intervening factors, contextual factors, and outcomes, which were validated within the framework of the research approach, at the levels of dimensions and components under investigation. This validation was conducted in both quantitative and qualitative phases. The results of this study indicate that the development of financial management strategies with an environmental sustainability approach, in addition to meeting legal and social requirements, serves as a smart economic strategy that reduces costs and optimizes resources. The success of this model requires the redefinition of organizational structures, strengthening the culture of sustainability, and alignment with macro-policies. The medical universities of Tehran can serve as a national model for achieving sustainable development goals for other educational institutions. |
