The aim of this study is to provide an overview of the impact of climate change risks and provide solutions to reduce its negative effects on the Iranian capital market. This study used a mixed method (qualitative-quantitative). In the qualitative part, the interview method was used to identify the risks affecting the capital market. The statistical population in this part is experts and experts in the field of capital markets who were selected using the purposeful and snowball method, and a total of 13 experts and experts in the capital market were interviewed. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview that continued until theoretical saturation was reached. Data analysis was carried out through three stages of open, axial, and selective coding. In the quantitative part of the study, a questionnaire was prepared based on the interview results and distributed and collected in two ways: direct referral and sending via e-mail. The statistical population in the quantitative section was experts and experts in the field of capital markets. A questionnaire was sent to 90 capital market experts, and after 3 follow-ups via e-mail and telephone, a total of 50 final usable questionnaires were returned. For quantitative data analysis, SPSS software and Friedman and one-sample t-tests were used. The findings indicate that with information transparency, investor awareness, and the implementation of appropriate policies, the negative effects of climate change can be reduced and a more sustainable capital market can be created. These results indicate the importance of paying attention to environmental issues in capital market policymaking. Therefore, the key to success in the future will be to accept these changes and quickly adapt to new conditions.
