In the contemporary world with tremendous scientific and technological advances, globalization and economic effects of high-growth industrial and postindustrial emerging powers, which account for nearly half the world's population, and global warming, the growth of legal and illegal immigrants, the designing and implementing development plans have been made increasingly necessary.
About 70 years have passed since the formulation of the first development plan in Iran, but Iran is still underdeveloped. Particularly, since Iran belongs to developing countries as well as single-product and resource-rich countries, planning is necessary.
In this paper, five post-Islamic Revolution development plans that their implementation was approved, are reviewed briefly. The sixth plan of the Islamic Republic is compared to criteria of the core values and essence of the teachings of Islamic economics by content analysis.
