Macroeconomic Variables and Non-Performing Loans (A Case Study of Banks Accepted in the Iranian Stock Exchange)

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of macroeconomic factors on the ratio of non-performing loans of accepted banks in Tehran Stock Exchange. For this purpose, the data of 8 banks and credit institutions from 1391 to 1396 in Tehran Stock Exchange and data panel regression method were used. The results of the study showed that the inflation rate and GDP have a negative and significant effect on the bank's outstanding claims. Moreover, the results indicated that the interest rate of the facility had a positive and significant effect on non-performing loans. |
