An important issue regarding economic goals is how to distribute wealth and income. Many views have been raised in this regard, and how to distribute income and wealth is one of the main bases for the differences between schools of thought. There have also been views on the distribution of income and wealth by the government in Islam. However, it seems that some of the issues raised in the name of Islam are not compatible with each other. Finding the right view among these can be very important. Since the Quran is the main source of Islam, referring to the Quran can clarify the reality of the issue. Therefore, this article examines the distribution of income and wealth in the Quran. Given that the Quran does not directly address the concept of distribution and the goal of governmental redistribution is equality (relative or absolute) of income or wealth between individuals, here the term equality (side) is examined with a relational method from the scope of structural semantic methods. In this context, the relationship of this word with its companions is analyzed as the subject and example of equality and inequality. The main conclusion is that the Quran does not allow any interference in market distribution and forced redistribution of income. The Quran also emphasizes that the difference in people's initial wealth and income is the will and providence of God. Rewards and wages should also be proportional to human effort and effectiveness. At the same time, individuals are free and encouraged to help the needy from their wealth in forms such as charity and zakat. In return for this voluntary help, God has promised individuals a reward in the hereafter. That is, even for this voluntary help, more compensation has been considered by God.
