Theoretical challenges in designing an Islamic economic educational programs; Case study of Continuous M.A Islamic studies and economics program.

According to some considerations such as necessity of university and Seminary unification, Continuous MA of Islamic Studies and Economics at the Imam Sadeq University began. More than 30 years after such experience, a suitable space is provided for evaluation the educational program. This evaluation can inspire the implementation of this program in the future as well as the new designing of courses related to interdisciplinary studies of Islamic economics. The aim of this study is an Expression of professors and graduates experiences about the implementation of this program as well as an analysis on some of the program challenges which are mentioned in designing of Islamic economics education.
This study includes two main sections. The first section studies the qualitative assessment of 17 graduated persons that were selected based on purposive sampling. In the second part of this article, the authors provide solutions to some of challenges. This section is based on theoretical and analytical method which analyses the assessments of interviewees.
The results of this study demonstrate the challenges that designers and planners of Islamic economics courses should respond to them. For example challenges such as "consensus about the nature of Islamic economics", "choosing the original goal and the approach for the educational program", "quality and quantity of courses (including Heterodox, Orthodox, interdisciplinary, skill oriented, philosophical and Islamic studies)", and “The status of the Arabic language” are the most important.
