The purpose of this study was to design a model of professional competencies for Generation Z managers in the banking industry, using the Post Bank of Iran as a case study. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach based on the interpretivist paradigm; it is applied in terms of purpose and developmental-exploratory in nature. The research participants consisted of 33 scientific and organizational experts, including university faculty members, managers, and specialists from Post Bank of Iran, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, which continued until theoretical saturation was achieved. The resulting data were analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method. The findings showed that, from the total data obtained through the interviews, 549 meaningful statements and propositions were extracted, which, after coding and conceptual integration, were organized into 328 initial codes, 93 subcategories, and 8 main categories comprising personal, cognitive, behavioral, digital, developmental, social, value-based, and managerial competencies. The results indicated that the professional competencies of Generation Z managers are multidimensional, integrated, and dynamic in nature, and that in addition to conventional managerial competencies, novel dimensions such as digital, developmental, and social competencies also play a decisive role in their professional success. Accordingly, the proposed model can be used as a comprehensive framework for identifying, assessing, selecting, training, and developing Generation Z managers in the banking industry, and can provide a basis for enhancing managerial effectiveness and aligning the organization with the requirements of the modern business environment. |
